Pragma Notifications
Pragma can notify you when something important happens while you are away from the window — for example a long-running command finishing or an agent task needing attention.
Configure related options in Settings → Features (Notifications).
What Notifications Are For
Common cases:
- A long command finished or failed
- An agent task is waiting for your input
- A background job needs attention
Notifications exist so you do not have to stare at the terminal for every long task.
What You Should Know
- OS permission required. On macOS, Windows, and many Linux setups, the OS must allow Pragma to show notifications.
- Not every event notifies. Quiet background activity should stay quiet; only meaningful state changes should alert you.
- Focus modes / Do Not Disturb on your OS can suppress alerts even when Pragma settings are on.
- Notifications should never include secrets. If you see sensitive content in a notification, treat it as a bug and contact support.
Tips
- Enable notifications when you run long builds, installs, or agent jobs
- Keep the app authorized in OS notification settings
- Pair with session restoration so you can return to the right work after stepping away
