Pragma Session Restoration
Session restoration helps you return to recent terminal / workspace state after restarting Pragma or reopening a window.

What Restoration Can Bring Back
Depending on settings and session type, Pragma may restore:
- Recent tabs / panes layout
- Working directory context
- Session metadata needed to continue work
Exact behavior can differ for local shells, SSH sessions, and cloud agent environments.
What You Should Know
- Restoration is convenience, not a backup system. Important work still belongs in git and durable storage.
- Remote sessions may need to reconnect; restoration cannot invent a live SSH connection if the host is down.
- Privacy: restored session data is for your account/machine workflow — review privacy if you share a machine.
- If restoration surprises you (wrong folder, stale tab), disable the feature, restart once, then re-enable after confirming settings.
Tips
- Commit or stash before risky restarts
- For remote work, prefer documented Remote & SSH reconnect flow
- Use Pragma Drive for files that must survive across devices
